Nabil Istafanous

Nabil Istafanous owns and operates Liquid Capital Northwest, which provides innovative financing solutions for start-ups, established and middle-market businesses in Seattle and surrounding areas. Liquid Capital has the largest number of principals in North America and Nabil opened the Seattle office to bring Liquid Capital’s industry-leading trade finance solutions to the local market.

Nabil received his BS degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and his Juris Doctor degree from Stanford University Law School.  Nabil has had a long and successful career as a practicing attorney, a health insurance executive and financial and investment advisor.  He also has experience reporting to and serving on several boards of directors.  As a practicing attorney, Nabil advised companies on healthcare regulatory and privacy compliance as well as negotiated agreements on behalf of technology start-ups.  As an executive, Nabil served as the Chief Compliance and Ethics Officer at two different healthcare service contractors with several billions in annual revenues headquartered in the Seattle area.  In the financial industry, Nabil served as a financial and investment advisor in the Seattle office of a world-renown investment bank and at a locally-owned, privately-held registered investment advisor.  He currently serves on the Board of Directors and on the Finance Committee at the Benaroya Research Institute at Virginia Mason.

Nabil brings the benefits of his background and experience in law, finance and management to help his clients further the success of their business.  As a small business owner himself, Nabil is aware of the challenges faced by small businesses and works tirelessly on their behalf to address their business capital needs.

Michael Sokoloff

Michael Sokoloff is the President of Liquid Capital Business Funding, located in Mount Laurel New Jersey, where he works with small and medium sized businesses to help them acquire the working capital they need to succeed.

Michael has a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania. He has more than 30 years of experience selling a variety of solutions to businesses, including software, human resources services, commercial real estate financing and brokerage, and payroll and related services. Persistent and hardworking, Michael has helped businesses optimize their performance and significantly reduce their costs.

Now, through Liquid Capital Business Funding, Michael is fulfilling his dream of owning his own business, while using his extensive experience to help his local business community grow. Michael is a member of several local business associations and is a long term resident of Southern New Jersey. He is a Philadelphia sports fan and car enthusiast, acting as a section chair of his local Porsche Club. Michael is the proud father of two; a daughter in medical school, and a son about to graduate college with a major in radio and television.

Shirley Brooks

The 2013 U. S. Small Business Administration Financial Services Champion of the Year, Shirley Brooks, is President at Liquid Capital Alternatives a Texas based alternative lender specializing in Accounts Receivable Financing, Asset Based Lending (ABL), and Purchase Ordering Financing.

Shirley’s professional resume includes over 20 years of intensive underwriting training in the alternative finance industry including 13 years in microfinance, professional experience in executive management, training, organizational development, leadership  and business development. Shirley’s passion is ensuring a path toward growth for small businesses by assisting owners in financial education and accessing capital. Her passion has created a platform to serve as a Subject Matter Expert in making the unbanked, bankable.

Shirley recently served as AIM Global Financial LLC’s Manager of Market Development & Sales Division, a Texas Based specialty commercial finance division that offers Accounts Receivable Financing.   AIM Global Financial partners with Gulf Coast Business Credit (GCBC), the working capital finance division of Gulf Coast Bank & Trust Company. GCBC is ranked amongst the top 20 largest factoring firms in the United States.

Shirley Brooks served the Women Business Enterprise community for over 2 years as the Director of U.S. Small Business Administration WBEA – Houston Women’s Business Center (WBC).  The host agency WBEA, WBC is a 501 ( c ) (3) non-profit organization providing women’s business enterprises with one-on-one counseling to grow scalable  businesses and create job growth.  The WBC provides business training, counseling, coaching, mentoring and other assistance geared toward women.  They served over a 1000 women in 2015. The Center offered pre-certification review for WBE’s WBENC.  The WBC program is recognized as part of a network of over 106 centers throughout the U.S.  Shirley’s focus was specializing in meeting the needs of women entrepreneurs and providing one-on-one business coaching and training to over a 1000 clients per grant year.  The Center was funded in part through a Cooperative Agreement by the U.S. Small Business Administration.  SBA Women’s Business Center helped woman turn their inspiration into action.

Shirley found her purpose as she served over 13 plus years’ with ACCION Texas, “LiftFund” as Vice President  Southeast Division. She provided thousands of loans helping unbanked small businesses gain access to operating capital through microfinance to grow their business and create jobs. Shirley believes small business can’t grow without accesses to operational capital and more importantly the proper understanding of how and when to utilize alternative financing, Micro Loans, Accounts Receivable Financing, Factoring, Asset Based Lending, Equipment Leasing, Purchase Order Financing, and SBA  504 Loans. Educating the Small Business Community has and will always be a passion for her.

With focus and determination Shirley has established a true customer following over the past fifteen years, with a presence in the Houston business community through collaborations with community partners including the banking industry.  She is known as a Subject Matter Expert in alternative financing.  Shirley is proud of her native Houstonian legacy (Go Cougars) and her business studies at University of Houston.  Shirley is also the proud mother of a lovely daughter.

Steve Buckley is the Structuring and Sales Advisor at Liquid Capital Corp.

Prior to joining Liquid Capital, Steve was with TCE Capital Corporation, a privately held Canadian Asset Based lender, working in business development for 10 years. Prior to that he was a Director at a Chartered Bank where he was involved in a variety of outsourcing, marketing and business development management roles. After graduating university, Steve began his career at one of the world’s largest marketing research companies. He left as a Vice President in 1995 to enter the financial services arena.

Ernane Iung (pronounced “Er-non-ee Young”) formed Liquid Capital Solutions, the Orlando affiliate of Liquid Capital Corp, in 2016. Through Liquid Capital Solutions, Ernane provides fast, reliable funding solutions to small and medium-sized businesses in the Central Florida market. Exceptional service yields exceptional results, and you would be hard-pressed to find a more experienced, or more dedicated business adviser and advocate than Ernane.

Born in Brazil and raised in Flint, Michigan, he found success as a high-energy sales, marketing and operations management strategist for mature and start-up public and privately held organizations in a variety of industries. A collaborative leader with a knack for forming lasting, loyal, and lucrative relationships, he has managed operations in Latin America, China, and Europe, as well as the United States, developing a wide range of expertise, including finance, administration, back office, warehousing, legal/contracts, HR, budgeting, and auditing.

When family business brought him back to the United States in 2015, he began looking for a way to put his skills and experience to work for small and medium-sized businesses. He understood the critical importance of healthy cash flow, and how difficult it could be for a fast-growing business or start-up to meet the increasingly stringent lending requirements of traditional lenders. He completed the “High Potential Managers Development Course” from Phillips Learning Academy in Eindhoven, Holland, and is a Distinguished Guest Lecturer in the Executive MBA Program at Florida Atlantic University.

A strong believer in the passionate pursuit of life and business, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters, and is a competitive masters swimmer, competing in aquatic marathons and ocean swim championships.

Greg and Diane are a part of the community and work closely with their clients to truly achieve partnership status.

Greg Lingo, company principal and owner, founded Liquid Capital RVA out of a desire to see small businesses succeed. After a long and successful career in national sales for three Fortune 500 companies, Greg decided to launch a business of his own closer to home and Liquid Capital RVA was born. As a small business owner himself, Greg is uniquely aware of the challenges faced by small businesses whether they are experiencing rapid growth, a product launch, restructuring or simply a working capital shortage.

Diane Lingo, company CFO, brings her experience as a “Big Four” CPA and finance executive to Liquid Capital RVA. Diane was CFO of a Virginia technology start-up that eventually went public on the Nasdaq stock exchange. Steering this company from concept to mature enterprise has given Diane insight into the financing challenges of fast-growing companies. She will evaluate each client’s balance sheet to identify funding options and provide hands-on support to clients at each step in the process.
